"Makeover Your Diabetes Day" in West Palm Beach, FL
(March 17, 2008 –West Palm Beach, FL) – Karline’s Salon and Spa, Palm Beach County’s first and only ethnic Paul Mitchell Signature Salon, Divabetic, a national diabetes awareness group inspired by the late Luther Vandross and the Palm Beach County Health Department, will present physician, author and alternative medicine authority, Dr. Al Sears, its next monthly Makeover Your Diabetes Day Monday, March 31, 2008, 6pm, at the salon’s flagship location, 4047 Okeechobee Boulevard, Suite 230 in West Palm Beach, FL.
Dr. Al Sears’ presentation will focus on a plan for improving diabetes, including better alternatives for diabetes treatment, the dangers of drugs prescribed for diabetes and the benefits of organic foods. Dr. Sears will also discuss how many of his patients have, in fact, reversed their diabetes. Sharon Greene, Health Promotion and Education Director of the Palm Beach County Health Department, will moderate what promises to be an informative and lively discussion.
Dr. Sears has published more than 325 articles and three books in the fields of alternative medicine, anti-aging and nutritional supplementation. His commanding knowledge of alternative medicine and ability to combine the best of modern medical science with natural holistic techniques and treatments, have transformed the lives of his patients for more than 15 years. Each month, Karline’s Salon and Spa hosts Makeover Your Diabetes Day to provide a community forum for sharing diabetes related experiences and to make diabetes information more appealing and accessible in a non-traditional, non-clinical and non-threatening environment. The program features healthy refreshments, tai chi stretch breaks, prize giveaways and relaxing hand and foot massages, courtesy of Karline’s Salon and Spa staff. Held the last Monday of every month, the meetings are free and open to men and women as well as those who care for and care about someone with diabetes.
